Tellabration! Events for Kids
Children’s Concert
Saturday, November 26, 10am
in the Open Book Performance Hall
The Children’s Concert will take you around the world and back again, with stories from as far away as Africa and as close as the Mall of America. Come listen, dance, laugh, sing, and allow your imagination to soar as five terrific storytellers and two talented concert hosts weave together “A World of Stories.”
Featuring Auntie Beverly, Larry Johnson, Carol McCormick, Margaret Meyers and Nothando Zulu; hosted by Katie Knutson and Pam Schweitzer. Although this concert is designed to be appropriate for school-aged children, all are welcome. More info at our Children’s Concert page.
Kid Open Mic
Saturday, November 26, 12pm – 1pm
in the Open Book Coffee Gallery
After the Children’s Concert, kids can tell their own stories during the first hour of our open mic series in the coffee gallery! Hosted by Katie Knutson and Pam Schweitzer.
Book Art Workshop
Saturday, November 26, 1pm – 3pm
at Minnesota Center for Book Arts
(First floor of Open Book)
Join us for a fun and free family drop-in Book Art workshop. Fold origami petals to make star-shaped artist books with teaching artist Tom Spence from Minnesota Center for Book Arts. You can keep your original stories inside and hang them like ornaments in your room.
