About the Performers:
Katherine Glover is the creator of solo storytelling shows “A Cynic Tells Love Stories” and “No Stranger Than Home,” which she’s performed at theater festivals across the country. She’s also appeared on Minnesota Public Radio’s “In The Loop” and featured at numerous comedy shows and spoken word events.
Khary Jackson is a performance poet and playwright. A Detroit native, he has competed for three years at several national poetry slam competitions, placing 6th place or higher individually each year, as well as winning the 2009 National Poetry Slam with the St Paul team. He hopes you have fun.
Alison Bergblom Johnson has read her work at the Walker Art Center, 7th Street Entry of First Avenue and at Patrick’s Cabaret. She teaches the class Writing Mental Illness. She has also been a resident at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center with support from the Jerome Foundation.
Accompanying her stories on fiddle, banjo, guitar, hand drum, and washtub bass, Rachel Nelson has taken her brand of interactive live physical performance to concerts, schools, festivals, and theaters. She loves the exchange of energy between audience and teller: “Every performance is unique–a thing we create together in the moment.” www.bardlive.com
Rik Reppe spends most of his time traveling and dressed in “respectable businessman drag” for his day job. He has a weakness for long, rambling roadtrips. Rik continues to perform his award winning productions of Santa Man, Glorious Noise, and Staggering Toward America at performing arts centers and universities across the country.
Sara Boyle Trautner has been telling stories for more than 15 years. She has appeared at many local venues including Two Chairs Telling, Cheap Theatre, The Irish Fair of Minnesota and the Minnesota Fringe Festival. She is a member of Klatch Productions and the Northstar Storytelling League.
Tellabration! 2009 is made possible in part by a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature.
